In 2021, Maison founder + principal Dasha Zolota worked with Naturally Sassy - an artisan, eco-friendly candle crafter. The team at Maison redesigned the brand's logo, created a set of holistic brand guidelines, and a candle care card for this sustainable digital shop. Our goal when rebranding any business is to give them all the foundational items necessary to go ahead and develop additional marketing materials they may need. Naturally Sassy went ahead and used our branding to make their own packaging and design a beautiful new website.

Branding is so much more than just a logo design. A logo is a doorway to the home that branding becomes for your business. When you invest in a holistic brand strategy, you're commissioning brand architecture - a house - and providing the framework for it to be a livable space that grows with you in time. That is the power of brand strategy and brand identity development. When you create a solid foundation, you give yourself the ability to expand and grow on your own terms for years to come.

A distinct brand personality, set of values, and aesthetic

When a business commissions a rebrand, it’s usually because they’ve been successful, and already have a defined persona that resonates with their target audience, along with an initial semblance of an aesthetic. Bohemian, purpose-driven brands don’t need to be cookie cutter, arch everything with goofy fonts. Naturally Sassy donates a portion of its proceeds to animal shelters, and we wanted to pay homage to the original elements of the brand while introducing an elevated visual theme that could be carried forward in time. We updated their cartoon style logo to elegant, monoline elements, changed their font from an irregular hand-drawn scrawl to a beautiful serif, and added an  terrazzo style pattern to accompany their earthy new colour palette and vibrant, emotive royalty-free stock library. This project’s brand strategy, brand guidelines and candle care card were executed by Maison Principal Dasha Zolota, logo design created by Maison Brand Designer Alandra Monette.
