VIBE VENDING: experiential agency holistic storytelling + Marketing specializing in novelty food portfolio by maison zolts

At the end of 2019, Maison founder + principal Dasha Zolota worked with Vibe Vending - a concept agency that arose from Tropic Love, a novelty smoothie brand often seen in Toronto festivals where customers drink from whole fruits - pineapples, watermelons, coconuts.

Several months later, lockdown hit and events were basically nonexistent. But we did come out of this gig with a stunning logo design series for a variety of concept novelty food sub brands, a variety of food photography sessions, a slew of pitch deck designs, a website design for Vibe Vending, and dozens of concepts for brand activations, trade show booths, immersive retail experiences, and novelty food stations.

If you're going to offer infinitely creative, hyper-customizable services and products that are all separately branded - you're going to need a vendor brand to house all of it. Even more so, you'll need to learn to show, not tell.

to succeed you need:

holistic MARKETING strategy

When a mother brand houses many product sub-brands, such as in the case of Vibe Vending housing Drizzle of Luv, Ice Cream in a Fruit, Late Night Munchies, Love Fluff, Love Coco, Luv Pop, Luv Puffs, Luvbot, Melt My Heart, Pineapple Dole Whip, and Tropic Love – storytelling efforts apply to the mother brand, and each sub-brand. Furthermore, pairing novelty foods with brand activations and custom builds adds a whole new layer of potential inspiration.. or confusion. This is where the Build Your Own Brand Formula was integral. When managing so many offerings, staying proactive and organized in your branding, design and marketing tasks becomes imperative. Reactive businesses tend to fail through resource leakage – whether it’s time, money, labour, or heartache.

Visual storytelling in a variety of media

Commerce brands require a variety of marketing deliverables to sell their products: from 3D rendered product packaging mockups, to product photography, to opportunity specialized pitch decks, and grant applications, to digital marketing items such as curated social media content creation and channel management, to custom website design, to experiential marketing collateral including trade show booth, cart and stand designs, brand activation designs, immersive retail concept designs, and photorealistic mockups of the environmental designs. There’s a linear and hierarchical order in which all these tasks make the most sense to be completed in, outlined in The Strategic Brand Drafting Manual

realistic products for the economy and world state

Lockdown was not an ideal time to launch an experiential agency. No one could have known that going into its early days that it was going to last several years in Canada. Over those two years during COVID-19, we saw the advent of home experiences, delivery of goods, the cataclysmic rise of Uber Eats, the birth of the home wedding trend – and so much more. That seemingly endless fever dream culled thousands of businesses, and also gave rise to different ones in its place. Vibe Vending will remain a concept, but one that the team at Maison will always look back fondly upon.
